In 2017, a blockchain development company called LimeChain was founded with the mission to advance the development and adoption of blockchain technologies. Since then, the company has grown to a team of 100+, contributing to projects and companies such as Polkadot, Hedera, The Graph, Celo, Ledger and others along the way. Throughout this journey, innovation and curiosity have been core values of the company. These values have driven the development of decentralized applications (dApps), blockchain infrastructure and developer tooling on Ethereum and beyond. Fast forward to now, the passion for innovation and advancing decentralized technologies have led to the creation of LimeLabs.
What is LimeLabs
LimeLabs is an R&D lab focused on exploring, developing and investing in technologies powering the decentralized web such as blockchain infrastructure, developer tooling, and scalability solutions including rollups and zk proofs.
It steps on the learnings of 6 years of building in the blockchain space and leverages the LimeChain hivemind.
The Thesis Behind LimeLabs
The core thesis behind LimeLabs is that the decentralized web is poised for a multi-chain and multi-rollup future where networks and applications are open, scalable and interoperable. Ethereum’s rollup-centric roadmap is no secret. Scalability and interoperability are absolutely fundamental to drive the Web3 space forward and we at LimeLabs believe that we get there by leveraging rollups and ZK technology.
We are relentless about driving decentralized technologies forward. Our minds are currently occupied with how we can achieve interoperability faster, without sacrificing security or decentralization.
Our most immediate R&D efforts are focused on cross-rollup communication, so make sure to keep an eye on this blog for more on the matter. As a result of these efforts, we expect to be able to release multiple open-source tools, libraries and protocols for the ecosystem to make use of.
